Have you ever visited vast fields and valleys completely filled with beautiful, bright flowers? Have you felt the fresh cool wind that sweeps those fields? If yes, I guarantee you should have experienced the most spectacular and mesmerizing beauty that nature beholds. I strongly feel all the manmade creations would fall next to this boundless bliss. In this article, I am trying to list Top 10 Flower Fields around the World.

I know that giving ratings and numbers to nature is such a foolish thing. But still trying to summarise and make a list of beautiful flower fields.

Beautiful Flower Fields:

1. Keukenhof Gardens – Netherlands:
Keukenhof, where the English translation is Kitchen Garden, is also known as the Garden of Europe. This garden stands one of the world’s largest flower gardens located in Lisse town, Netherlands. Tulips form the major attraction of the garden but there are other flowers also that include wild hyacinths, lilies, roses, daffodils, irises, and carnations. This garden is open only from March to May a span of 8 weeks for the tulip display. The garden was established in 1949 and is operated by Count Carel De Gaaf Van Lyden a charitable foundation. In the first year of its display, this garden attracted 200,000 visitors. This garden is taken care of by over 100 growers who plant almost 7 million bulbs. According to the history in 1641 Adriaen Maertensz bought this land and constructed a huge castle and named it as Castle Keukenhof. This garden falls next to the castle and during that time its purpose was to grow fruits and vegetables. As time went on the garden came under a trust and got the name Keukenhof Gardens.




2. Blue Forest in Halle, Belgium:
Blue Forest is just another name for the forest in Hallerbos also called Halle located in Belgium. The forest is of 1,360 acres and it turns blue during the months of April to May due to the blossom of Bluebell flowers. As these flowers form a carpet over the entire forest, this is the reason the Halle forest is also called Blue Forest. The Bluebells also called wild hyacinths to bloom only for two weeks. The exact blooming timing differs slightly every year which is dependent on weather conditions. Hallerbos forest is just 20 km to the south of Brussels the capital city of Belgium. It is always advised to have your hiking boots as during this season the terrain gets completely muddy.
  



3. Furano Flower Fields, Japan:
Furano is a beautiful city that comes under Hokkaido, Japan. This city has many natural attractions and one that includes Furano Flower Fields. The best time to visit is during June to August. But the Furano flower fields blossom during July. These fields turn purple with full of lavenders blooming all over the Hokkaido. There are many farms that grow different varieties of lavenders. Some of the renowned farms are Farm Tomita, Choei Lavender Farm, Highland Furano, Hinode Lavender Field, and Rokugo Lavender field. Some of these farms have shops which are the best places to buy flower gifts and enjoy creamy Lavender softy. Most of the farms have no entry fees during the blooming season. One can even enjoy ski lifts over these amazing purple fields.



4. Canola Flower Fields, China:
Canola Flower Fields are located in Luoping County in Yunnan province in China. Canola Flower is also known as rapeseed flower. This sea of Canola flower generally blossom during February to April and in this season the annual Canola Flower Festival is also being held. This brings a flood of tourists to enjoy the Golden sea of Canola flowers. To get the panoramic view of these fields one has to reach the top of Golden Rooster Hill. Visitors not only adore the scenic view but also savor fresh honey and buy cooking oil made from these seeds. The other tourist attractions include Jinji Peaks, Meili Snow Mountain, Duoyi river, and Jiulong Waterfalls.



5. Lake Tekapo, New Zealand:
Lake Tekapo is located in the south of New Zealand along with the Mackenzie Basin. This lake is of 83 sq km with an elevation of 2,330 feet above sea level. The lake attracts many tourists around the year but during summer the beauty is really incredible. The reason is during this season the entire lakeside is being bloomed with blue Lupins. The right time to witness this spectacular view is from September to February. The best places to find the spread of lupin flowers are around Lake Tekapo, Ahuriri river, lake Wanaka, Burkes Pass, Lake Pukaki, and near Twizel.



6. Agassiz Tulip Festival, Canada:
Tulips are such a wonderful flower to gaze at when they are spread over a vast landscape with different colors. This indeed makes everyone calm, happy, and refreshing. At foot of the Mount Cheam lies the valley of Agassiz. And this valley witnesses the most scenic view of Tulips spread over 40 acres. But the downside is this beauty lasts only for about two weeks. So if you want to experience this colorful spread of Tulips then you need to make it in time starting the month of April every year. Visitors are allowed to enter into the fields to take photos but don’t forget to carry boots and warm jackets as the weather gets rainy.



7. Hitachi Seaside Park in Ibaraki, Japan:
Hitachi Seaside Park located near Mito in Ibaraki region, Japan is home for the blue nemophila flower. This region is spread out in 350 hectares in which 190 hectors are for park. Apart from the park, there is also an amusement park, cycling, and walking trails. As mentioned earlier Hitachi Seaside Park consists of blue-eyed nemophila, daffodils, and over 170 varieties of tulips. The best time to visit this place is from April to May. On the other side of the park, one can find The Pacific Ocean. During the October time on the Miharashi Hill kokia bushes slowly turn red from green. Most of the flowers bloom starting from April to July. And during other months visitors can enjoy an amusement park which has over 25 rides including a tall 100m Ferris wheel. Bicycles are also available for rent to tourists.



8. Lavender Fields, Provence – France:
The purple-colored flowers with a pleasant fragrance covering the entire landscapes are absolutely a delightful view. And this can be found at Provence Lavender Fields in France. It is not like Lavenders are found only in Provence, but the point is people are so attracted to this location that it out bounds all other places. The blooming season of this dusky purple colored flowers are during June and July. And in this time of the year Verdon, Luberon, Provence, and Marseille are covered with Lavenders. In these regions, one can even find lavender products, oils, and cosmetics. To be more specific in finding Lavender Fields one has to visit Le Musee de la Lavande, Notre-Dame de Senanque, Valensole, and Sault. Provence also holds lavender festivals mostly for one day and the celebrations include food, music, arts, and crafts.



9. Kaas Plateau in Maharashtra, India:
Kaas Plateau is listed as World Natural Heritage by UNESCO in 2012. This plateau is also called as Kaas Pathar and is located to the west of Satara city about 25 Km away and is a part of Western Ghats. Kaas Plateau is renowned for its wide range of seasonal flowers and various species of butterflies that generally bloom during the months of August and September. The plateau is elevated of about 1200 m and is of 10 Sq Km wide in area. The formation of this plateau is by the volcanic rocks. Around 850 different flowering plants are found here. If one has to enjoy the scenic beauty of this place then the best time to visit is from August to October. The reason is rains start in the month of June but the blooming of flowers starts after one or two months.



10. Sunflower Fields, Tuscany – Italy:
Tuscany, Italy is one the preferred tourist spot not vast fields of Sunflower. Here people grow Sunflowers not for tourist attractions but as a yearly crop. These flowers generally bloom from June to August. One would find vast fields of scenic sunflower beauty as you drive along the Tuscany, Le Marche, and Florence and along the coast of Pian d’Alma. Apart from Sunflowers Tuscany is also known for growing other flowers like Alpine lily, primroses, and red poppies. The interesting fact is Lily is the National Flower of Italy but not Sunflower. Italy even does not find a place in the top 5 Sunflower producing countries.
